Prayer Pyramid at EMC
We have a prayer pyramid, involving 34 people, which can be activated very quickly by phone calls when there is a serious problem needing prayer. 4 people each ring 2 people and 8 people then ring 2 more until everyone is praying for the situation so the message travels very quickly. We have some gaps which I’d like to fill so if you feel you could be involved with this Ministry, which is not time consuming, please contact me: Carol Stringer.
You are invited to our special Harvest Celebration, an evening of Fun and Fellowship with salmon and salad supper, on Sat 23 Sept at 7.15pm in the Community Hall. Tickets £5, from the Church Office or Peter Thompson. Everyone is welcome, so please invite your friends. Final numbers are needed by Sunday 17th September, so please make sure that you have your tickets before then.
Harvest Festival Sun 24th Sept
This year, the Church will fund individual plants to distribute to the Housebound/those in Care Homes.
You are very welcome to donate the usual tinned/packet goods, fruit and vegetables. These will be donated to the Food Bank (see the Food Bank request list if that is helpful but not essential). We welcome all donations. Those who would prefer to donate money will have an opportunity to do so—more details next week.
We need helpers from 9am onwards on MONDAY Sept 25th to organise/distribute the plants. We can only do this if we have enough manpower so please help if you can. Joan Thomas
We would like to invite you to our Housegroup at 7.45pm on Wednesdays. We are looking at some of the Psalms, seeking to encourage one another as we share in fellowship together. The format is similar to that of the Discipleship Course, so if you found that helpful, please come and join us.
We have also started a new Housegroup in Jackson Close, meeting fortnightly on Thursday mornings at 10am, so please think about whether you would like to be involved in that. For further details, contact Peter Thompson or Kathryn Thompson.
If you borrowed a book at the end of the Discipleship Course, it would be really helpful if, having read it, you could now return it to Peter Thompson, via the pigeon holes or the church office. This is in anticipation of the new ‘Books to Borrow’ scheme which will be available from next week. (This does not refer to the Discipleship Course handbooks which were yours to keep.)
