LISTENING AT EMC:
This service is currently suspended
Listening: a free service for everyone over 18 to speak confidentially to a trained listener about anything on their mind. Listeners do not offer advice, interrupt or judge.
Who are the listeners at Listening? Volunteers from Epsom Methodist Church. All listeners have completed listening training, mainly from Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. All listeners have been recruited and trained to best practice to ensure the safety of all visitors. They will be wearing purple aprons.
Why is Listening so important? Because we live in a world where people cry out ‘help no-one is listening to me.’ People often struggle to find someone who will give them the time and space to really listen to them. When people are listened to, they feel respected, valued, loved, significant, empowered, helped and affirmed. Listening is healing, hospitality, a form of prayer. The listener can pray with and for you.
Where and when is Listening? Roots on Tuesdays 10am to 1pm. No need to book - just turn up and someone will be on hand to talk to.
Can I volunteer at Listening ? Please contact Val Imms via the Church Office.
