HOPE into ACTION  Newsletter January 2025
Hope Into Action is a national charity working in 32 locations.  The dream is to see churches changing the lives of the most disadvantaged in our society by finding them homes rather than just a bed for the night.
Hope Into Action Epsom operates as a franchise of the national Hope Into Action Charity. Thanks to generous investments and commitment from a number of people from local churches, we have at present, one house. Our vision is to expand our project to purchase a second house, thus offering help to more vulnerable people.
The house in Epsom has space for four single male tenants who would otherwise be homeless. They are supported by an Empowerment Worker (Robin Calcutt) who offers regular support and encouragement, and a small team of Friendship and Support volunteers who seek to befriend and offer help where and when possible. As well as a home, the tenants are given advice and assistance to enable them to get back on their feet, apply for jobs and move on to better things following the unravelling of their lives for whatever reasons, often complex issues: mental health, shattered confidence, addictive past issues, difficult and broken relationships.

How can you help and get involved?

PARTICIPATE in this venture as a new investor
BECOME a Friendship and Support Volunteer. This is not a huge commitment but the support you can offer to someone struggling is invaluable. Training will be given and DBS checks will be carried out by EMC.
PUBLICISE Hope Into Action within your church and family. Raise awareness of this great charity.
PRAY for Hope Into Action and for our vision to see homeless and disadvantaged people housed and helped in your local area.
If you wish to discuss any of the above please contact: Robin Calcutt, (HiA Epsom Empowerment Worker) on: 07768 230832  Robin.calcutt@hopeintoaction.org.uk
