A Warm Hello
If you are interested in finding out more about EMC - Current Arrangements
With Government guidelines recommending everyone stays at home we are not opening the church building for services at present. Instead we are live streaming the service at 10am every Sunday morning and this can be viewed live by subscribing to our weekly newsletter and following the link provided or by viewing the service on You Tube (generally available by 4pm on that Sunday). Services are also being livestreamed in Mandarin and Cantonese. For more information see our Sunday Services page of this website.
If you would like us to get in touch please use the "Contact Us" form and we will be in touch.
If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter please complete the "Newsletter Request" form.
Live Services beyond lockdown (when permitted)
The following information is specifically for those planning a visit when our church re-opens and restarts the usual pattern of services, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning. Alternatively, if you are new and would like to discover more about our church ("EMC") why not visit our coffee shop "Roots" and look around; if you would like to meet one of our ministers, please use the "Contact us" form and we will be in touch to arrange an informal chat.
Where and When (beyond lockdown)
We meet at the Church building (details below) for our Sunday Services. Our main service is at 10.30am but there are also services at 9am, 2pm and 5.45pm (you can read about the different types of services here) . Our small car park can get very busy, so if you are able, please do give yourself time to park in one of the local car parks and then come along and find a seat (for details of car parking at EMC and nearby please see the "Car Parking" page). When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.
We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the 10.30am service. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.
Plan your journey:
Open Google Maps
Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There is an assessible toilet in the main foyer.
The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band. We typically have two or three songs and there is a reading of a passage from the bible. We also share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Usually there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
What about my kids?
At present we have a 15 minute online programme specifically for kids which is released every Sunday. More details here.
We expect to restart our fun programmes lined up for kids of all ages:
Creche (0 months to 3 years). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/grown-up at all times.
Pulse (3-11 years)
Young people (11+ years) Stay in service.
Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Whilst you are dropping your kids off at their groups, we pause to take time to chat to someone sitting near or next to us, giving folk a chance to come back before the sermon begins.
The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
